SCENT WORK

With over three years of experience photographing scent work, I have documented trials and training across multiple venues, both indoor and outdoor. Scent work requires a quiet, observant approach — one that respects the dog’s focus while still capturing the precision, intensity, and problem-solving that define the sport.

My style prioritizes being discreet and unobtrusive, allowing dogs to work naturally without distraction. With a trained eye for canine body language, I understand the subtle shifts that indicate when a dog is in odor, enabling me to anticipate key moments rather than react to them. This allows for intentional images that highlight the unique angles of the hides, the dog’s focus, and the communication between handler and canine as the search unfolds.
