Hi, I am Lauren!
From an early age, animals have shaped the course of my life, my work, and my passions. Today, that lifelong connection is at the heart of my photography. As a dedicated canine and equine photographer, I combine technical training, behavioral knowledge, and years of hands-on experience to create refined, expressive imagery that honors the bond between animals and the people who love them.
My journey with animals began long before I ever picked up a camera. I have been an equestrian for over a decade, having competed on the Arabian circuit for 12 years. Those years taught me discipline, patience, and the beauty of working in true partnership with a horse. This is where my love for photography sparked! I would shoot at big events for fun! One of my proudest accomplishments was earning Reserve National Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation at the Arabian Youth Nationals—an experience that I will never forget.
Parallel to my work with horses, dogs have held an equally significant place in my life. I have personally trained my own dogs for IGP, including one who now works as a dual-purpose K9 for the state of Washington. These experiences strengthened my understanding of canine behavior and communication, shaping the way I approach every canine session—with intention, empathy, and a deep appreciation for each dog’s unique personality.
Academically, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, which helped me develop a calm, detail-oriented approach to working in dynamic environments. During college, I also pursued photography courses that laid the foundation for the fine art style I’ve cultivated over the years. For the past three years, I’ve devoted myself to professional dog photography, continually striving to elevate my craft and deliver work that reflects both artistry and authenticity.
Animal behavior remains one of my greatest passions, and it plays a central role in my creative process. My sessions are designed to be positive, low-pressure, and guided entirely by the comfort of the animals involved. I pay close attention to subtle shifts in body language—ears, eyes, posture, breath—and use those cues to adapt my pacing, positioning, and approach. This creates an environment where dogs and horses feel safe, confident, and free to express who they truly are.
Whether I’m photographing a beloved family dog or an elegant performance horse, my goal is the same: to create timeless, fine art images that reflect the spirit, story, and irreplaceable presence of the animals who share our lives. Through my lens, I strive to celebrate their loyalty, their grace, and the quiet, profound connections that make them family.
When I am not out shooting....
When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me either working at the hospital as a OB Nurse or I am at home spending time with the people and animals who mean the most to me. I live with my wonderful husband, Justin, and our son, Cayden, who brings endless joy and energy to our home. I have two German Shepherds that I train in IGP and American Schutzhund, and two cats! Needless to say, sometimes my house feels like a zoo!
